Founded in 1928, Yakima Valley Community College serves over 10,000 students a year through two campuses located in Yakima and Grandview, as well as learning centers located in Ellensburg, Toppenish and Sunnyside. Centrally located in Washington, the Yakima River Valley is known for its sunshine, agriculture, outdoor activities and developing wine industry. Culturally and geographically diverse, the YVCC student population includes dual-enrollment high school students (Running Start), high school graduates, those in mid-career seeking job training or continuing education, as well as people learning English and other basic literacy skills.
