"The history of development of the university and the history of higher education in the region Agroengineering reflect all the important stages in the development of the agricultural and industrial sectors in Western Kazakhstan. With the era of intensive development of virgin and fallow lands there was an urgent need for staffing managers agricultural production five areas of western Kazakhstan. The demand for specialists with higher education in the early 60-ies in the Urals region satisfies only 30%, and the remaining areas - 20%. Therefore, the Decree of the Kazakh SSR Council of Ministers of 19.07.1963g. №571 West Kazakhstan Agricultural Institute was opened.
The activity of the Institute started in converted buildings of three faculties: agro-economic, veterinary, agricultural mechanization and 11 departments, taking 1 day training course 30 2 student. Among the students of the first set was dominated by persons who have already had experience in production, the former experts of the collective and state farms. Due to the shortage of teachers Veterinary Faculty in 1964 transformed into the Zootechnical Faculty, in 1966 - opened Agronomy, by separating from the agro-economic faculty . Institute gradually expanded, becoming a major center of higher agricultural education and science. Construction in 1967 - 1986 gg. a model school complex, the creation of the research sector, the opening of the military department, faculty training and veterinary faculty, formation of logistical and educational base - all this - achievements and contribution to the first generation of leaders, staff and faculty in the history of the university formation."
