The Unoesc emerged in the late 60s, with the dream of bringing higher education to the state of Santa Catarina. In 1995 we were recognized as a university by the State Board of Education, and therefore accredited by the Ministry of Education. Born from the unification of three existing Educational Foundations in the region, FUOC, Femerp and Fundeste, and later also integrated with Funesc and FEMAI the Unoesc joined forces in response to the need for expansion of higher education in the western and mid- regions Santa Catarina west. Many years have passed and we are now one of the largest driving development institutions, research and socio-cultural and educational perspectives in the areas of coverage.
