Included in the select group of Excellence Higher Education Institutions of the Ministry of Education (MEC), the University Santa Cecilia (Unisanta) reaffirms the quality of their pedagogical project of undergraduate and postgraduate, its infrastructure and the brilliant performance of their active teachers, students, alumni and staff. Only 9% of Brazilian universities are part of this group.
On October 15, 1969, with the creation of ISESC (Higher Institute of Education Santa Cecilia), the commitment to education, culture and the advancement of knowledge extended to higher education. The first course was of Engineering, the first night of the Region, created in 1971. The idea ISESC and the group of engineers and university professors was to prepare their students workers, training them as capable men and critics who give scientific, technical and social support industrial expansion recorded at an increasing rate in Cubatao and nearby towns, joining the largest port in South America, in Santos.
