The Universidade Paulista, UNIP, recognized by Decree No. 550/88, began operations on November 9, 1988. It was formed from the Unified Institute Paulista, IUP, the Paulista Engineering Education Institute, IEEP, and the Dental Institute Paulista, IOP; the first of these, authorized to work in 1972, initially with the Mass Communication courses, Letters, Pedagogy and Psychology. The UNIP promotes updated training of students and their training for a changing society through quality education, technologically advanced and focused on the future in the areas of humanities, social, exact and health. Its main aim is to promote the development of students' potential, establishing conditions conducive to an active participation in the job market and the creative problem solving that the company offers.The Brazilian reality, which deserves special attention from the UNIP, makes it also attached importance to postgraduate study programs.
