The University Guarulhos is the result of an audacious bet six educators, who in 1969 leased the former Claretian College of Guarulhos, confessional education entity that entered into crisis in the late 60s.
After stabilizing the college, the group was admitted to the Federal Board of Education with a request for authorization for the operation of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters Farias Brito. On August 12, 1970, the Ministry of Education signed the decree and authorized the opening of the institution by offering five courses: Pedagogy, Literature, Mathematics, Social Studies and Physical and Life Sciences.
