The UEMS - State University of Mato Grosso do Sul, has become over the years an important mechanism for development and social inclusion. Rethinking, dared to create and enhance instruments that made possible the consolidation of a new scenario for Education, launched and made effective projects in the fields of teaching, research and extension, in a coordinated action that undeniably constitute today as powerhouse of science and knowledge , one of the radiators poles of the sustainable development of Mato Grosso do Sul. Established by State Law No. 1461, of December 20, 1993, accredited by Resolution EC / MS No. 4787 of the State Board of Education, has as its guiding principles the knowledge and the development of man and the environment in integration and ongoing participation process; openness to innovation within its threefold function: teaching, research and extension; democratic and fraternal spirit in the conduct of their goals and freedom of thought and expression for the effective exercise of citizenship. It is known that the State University Foundation of Mato Grosso do Sul - UEMS, was designed in the first Constituent State in 1979 and implemented in 1993 with the goal of designing a new educational scenario in the state, since it had serious problems regarding primary and secondary education, especially regarding the qualifications of its faculty.
