The History of UNISC is intertwined with the history of the Pro-Education Association in Santa Cruz do Sul, his sponsor, founded in 1962. At the time, APESC already dreamed of a university, but come a long way to achieve this goal. The efforts of the Association began to be rewarded in 1964, when the School of Accounting was created. In 1967 they began the courses of the Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters. In 1968, it was the turn of the Faculty of Law and two years later, the Higher School of Physical Education.As APESC did not have its own assets, colleges began operations in classrooms assigned by local colleges. Em1973, came to occupy the central pavilion of the current Oktoberfest Park and, since 1977, have been moved to its own building, built by APESC near this park, in the street Colonel Jost. In the early seventies, the APESC, thinking ahead Campus also acquired great area where today is located the headquarters of Campus UNISC.
