The University Surcolombiana "USCO," is a national public university funded primarily by the Colombian government's mission to produce, adapt and disseminate scientific, humanistic and technical knowledge to serve effectively to understanding and solving relevant problems of integral development equitable and sustainable.
The December 17, 1968, Law 55 Surcolombiano University Technological Institute (ITUSCO) is created with the mission to prepare and qualify professionals requiring the region and knowledge of their concrete reality. He began academic work on March 30, 1970, three programs of Technology, Business Administration, Educational Administration and Public Accounting, with 305 students and four full-time teachers.
