In the City of Lima, on the 10th day of October 2002, Dr. Fernández Pérez Lastenia signed in his capacity as General Manager of the Minutes containing the Foundation Act, the Agreement on Social Constitution and the Statute of the University the Americas, whose registered office and looks at the Capital of the Republic. Initiated institutional activities and developed with academic conviction and social commitment during the period established by current regulations, the five annual assessments required by law, thanks to the strategic direction and tenacious work of its promoters and Presidents Founders Dr. Lastenia Fernandez was approved Dr. Perez and Luis Hurtado Valencia, who had the ongoing collaboration of university distinguished professionals who assumed the task of carrying out the self-evaluation process.The satisfactory degree with which our university approved the required assessments, it was possible because the objectives, goals and commitments contained in the Plan of Institutional Development, met with timeliness, efficiency and excellence, leading to the achievement of an adequate quality academic, ethical, economic and administrative. So, on Friday March 20, 2009 at 19:00 was held, attended by the President of the National Assembly of Rectors, Dr. Ivan Rodriguez Chavez, the solemn Ceremony Resolution No. 100-2009-CONAFU, granted final approval of operation and full university autonomy, under the Constitution and the regulations in force, the University Americas, while recognizing Dr. Luis Hurtado Valencia as their first Rector.
