Federico Villarreal National University (UNFV) was created as the Autonomous University October 30, 1963, by Law No. 14692, enacted by the constitutional government of President Fernando Belaunde Terry. The UNFV proudly holds the name of the famous Peruvian scholar Federico Villarreal, who during his life dabbled in almost every field of human knowledge, entirely dedicated to the study of science, research and teaching.
Villarreal University dates back to the time when he worked as a subsidiary in Lima University community Center (UCC) of Peru, founded in December 1959 and which included subsidiaries according to the specializations offered. As the academic activities of the community college was confined to the city of Huancayo, in 1960 a group of bank employees . Lima held a meeting at which they agreed to become committee profacultades of Lima Dr. Javier Pulgar Vidal, scientist and illustrious university professor was the manager of the university; Ramiro Prialé accompanied him, Jesus Veliz Lizarraga Cesar Solis, Manuel Gutierrez and Luis Vega Fernandez Aliaga in drafting and signing the deed of foundation. Lima subsidiary began operations in a rented house, located and Jiron Moquegua 262 Lima .
