The National University of Northwestern Buenos Aires (UNNOBA) was established on December 16, 2002 by Federal Executive Decree No. 2617, and ratified its creation by Law No. 25,824 of November 19, 2003. It is headquartered in the town of Junin, where the seat of the central authorities and based in the city of Pergamino. It is organized with a structure of Schools and Departments. The realization of the institutional and academic project has been preceded UNNOBA organizing two regional university centers, the Regional University Center Junín (CURJ), and the University Regional Parchment Center (CRUP), who developed activities of university education since 1990 1991 respectively. In 2003 he began the stage of organization and in 2005 the dictates of his own academic offerings. In 2007 the representatives of the University Assembly and the Board and on 26 April of that year the first Rector was elected by the University Assembly were elected.
