By Law No. 16225, of 02 September 1966, the National Technical University of Callao (UNATEC) was created, with President Arq. Fernando Belaunde Terry and Minister of Education Dr. Carlos Cueto Fernandini. With the enactment of this law was seen completed and made the yearning for chalaca community, born this way a university with purely technical nature and high level. tHE UNATEC was initially created with four faculties ( Hydrobiological Resources and Fisheries, Industrial Chemistry, Naval Engineering, Industrial, Mechanical and Electrical, and Economic and Management Sciences ).
University was governed by the First Board of UNATEC, under Article 7 of the creation of the Superior House of Studies. This Board was made up of six members representing the various public and private institutions, settling on 6 September 1966, and its president, Dr. Remigio Pino Carpio in his capacity as President of the Superior Court of Callao. Once University managed to consolidate administrative and academically, the long awaited change: Technical National University of Callao National University of Callao , the enactment No. 23733 Act , whose force came from 18 December 1983 .
