While the August 11, 1964, during the government of Leopoldo Bravo, the State University Domingo Faustino Sarmiento was created in homage to San Juan hero to fight for more education on the same day, in a note published in the newspaper Tribune San Juan, a group of renowned personalities in the field of education, science and culture supporting the creation of a national university in the province.
