The Black River National University is an institution devoted to higher education, extension and research. It originated in 2008, with the aim to establish itself as a dynamic and entrepreneurial university, intended to facilitate the professionalization of youth in the region; promote culture and participate actively in the establishment of a more just economic system. National University Black River was created in response to the historical demand of the Rio Negro society to have a house of higher learning whose mission was to meet the needs of university education in the province, contributing to economic development, and promoting mobility and social justice.The consolidated UNRN today as an educational institution that carries out its activities with an emphasis on science as a source of knowledge, excellence as the only acceptable outcome, innovation as a necessary activity for progress and partnership as creative synergy between the local and the global.The UNRN is a regional university, which responds to a vast provincial territory of more than 200,000 km2. It is organized by Headquarters - Atlantic Andina Alto Valle and Valle East- where the demands associated with social and economic character of each region races are held.
