The History of the National University of La Plata begins to take shape in the late nineteenth century, when then Senator Buenos Aires Rafael Hernandez he promoted the initiative to create a university that would respond to the renewed needs of scientific, technical and cultural training that manifested younger generations who began to inhabit the newly founded city of La Plata, the new capital of the province of Buenos Aires.
