In 1981, year of major events for the political, educational, cultural and social life of El Salvador, was the time when a group of professionals in the country, decided to create a "new" institution that would be able to provide educational services at Level Higher education quality and academic excellence and the essential component of accessibility to university studies for people in those days could only dream become useful to his country professionals. The initial idea of the group was to get the university to all regions of the country, where at the time, to receive higher education was very difficult to be enacted aspiration. With this concept, the University began its work in the cities of San Salvador, Sonsonate, Santa Ana and San Miguel.
