Metropolitan University was established on November 16, 1973 (41 years), founded by Foundation Acosta Bendek, Archdiocesan Curia, business groups represented by the sectional ANDI FENALCO Banking Association and ACOPI Legal Personality according to Resolution 1052 of February 25 1974 of the Ministry of Education. Dr. Gabriel Acosta Bendek was our first Director and Founder. In 1974 activities began with the first program: Medicine, Nursing and Social Work. In 1992 he was offered the first of our Graduate Studies in Internal Medicine. After a long history of service to the alma mater Metropolitan University Rector, Dr. Eduardo Acosta Bendek recognized for his research on fetal crying, and after his resignation for health reasons, he was appointed our current Rector Medical Dr Carlos Jaller Raad. For today Metropolitan University emphasizes its educational project, based on the interactional and dialogical pedagogy, which uses knowledge as a catalyst for learning,
