Lay University "Eloy Alfaro" Manabi, created by Act No. 10 published in the Official Gazette No. 313 of 13 November 1985 is a higher education institution with legal personality under public law nonprofit, character secular, autonomous, democratic, pluralistic, critical and scientific. Lay University "Eloy Alfaro" Manabi is based in Manta, one of the five main cities of Ecuador, riverside town sea fishing center of the most important South Pacific and city of great potential in terms of tourism development, it is also a city which is projected as a possible future international transfer port. University primarily serves the youth of the third province of Ecuador which has a population of over one million two hundred thousand inhabitants.
