The Inca Garcilaso de la Vega was born in the city of Cuzco on April 12, 1539. His parents were Spanish Captain Sebastian Garcilaso de la Vega and Isabel Chimpu Ocllo Inca ñusta, cousin of the Inca Atahualpa.
University Inca Garcilaso de la Vega was founded on December 21, 1964. Starting its academic activities as Pedagogical University through six faculties with wide Later Supreme Decree No. 74-A and 26 December 1964. educational services in other areas of scientific knowledge making a total of ten faculties, seventeen Career and Graduate School Masters fifteen sections seven doctorates.
