On December 7, 1977 and by agreement with the National University of Colombia was appointed Victor Albis González as Rector and the academic and administrative organization began. On August 5, 1978, with the presence of the Director of ICFES and the Rectors of the Universities of Costa opened the University of Sucre and with it the start of academic work.
