Our institution has conceived through history to know the development of the multiple possibilities of the intelligence which man possesses; orienting the university work towards a compromise that allows you, through the exercise of knowledge and cultivation of science, dignify man and contribute to building a more just, fraternal, dignified and caring society. 1708 The University of San Buenaventura was founded by the Franciscan community in the province of Santa Fe of Colombia as Colegio Mayor de San Buenaventura. 1747 He began work under the direction of Father Franciscan Friar Diego Barroso and was adopted on 19 September by the Royal Decree of Fernando VI. Students linked to this initiative adelantaban his studies at the same Colegio Mayor where they had their hosting to get any of the permitted degrees in arts, philosophy and theology.
