University of Los Andes is an autonomous national university, funded by the state. It covers an area of ​​360,719 m2. distributed over the three Andean states, as well as extensions of the Faculty of Medicine who are in the cities of Guanare, Valle de La Pascua and Barinas. The University has 11 faculties, 3 core and an extension, instruction is given in Spanish, with a regimen of study per semester, in most of their careers. The given studies cover various areas of knowledge, such as: Basic Sciences, Engineering, Architecture and Technology, Agriculture and Marine Sciences, Health Sciences, Education Sciences, Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts. Teaching activities are undergraduate and graduate level, they are also complemented by research programs, culture and extension.
