The Catholic University of Maule is a higher education institution founded by His Excellency the Bishop of the Diocese of Talca, Monsignor Carlos González Cruchaga, by decree dated July 10, 1991. Our university derives from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile Maule Regional Office therefore is legal successor in academic and economic matters. The University participates in the legal personality of public law of the Catholic Church is under public law in accordance with Chilean law, recognized by the State University resulting from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, according to Decree No. 930 of the Ministry of Finance of October 15, 1991.
