The Autonomous University of Guerrero is a young institution, but also vibrant and constantly changing. The maximum house of studies of Guerrero born product of the struggle of the masses of the organization for better education and an institution that contributes to economic development, social políticoy the State of Guerrero. From the state of Guerrero was instituted in 1849 , the need to create a school of secondary education in the newly created state. On June 5 of 1852 , they enacted liberal Guerrero decree number 36 in which the Literary Institute was founded Alvarez, in the city of Tixtla . However, this does not even open their doors given the existing conditions in the republic which was immersed in a civil war between liberals and consevadores. It would not be until 1869 , when General Francisco O. Arce , then governor of the state, established by Decree No. 31, published on September 11 , which endorses the institute. On September 16th of 1869 , the institution finally opened its doors, having been directed by professor Francisco Granados Maldonado.
