Our University Antonio Ruiz de Montoya is named after a Lima illustrious Jesuit, who along with other Jesuits founded the reductions of Paraguay, being also ethnologist, linguist and author of works of mystical theology. Antonio Ruiz de Montoya was born in Lima in 1585 and entered the Society of Jesus at 24 he años.Inició the novitiate in San Pablo de Lima School and continued his studies in theology and philosophy in Cordoba, Argentina, for four years. Completed its formative stage, was intended to reductions of Paraguay to work with the Guarani Indians.
