The U. Alberto Hurtado was created on October 20, 1997 by the Society of Jesus. In a context marked by enormous socio-cultural transformations, the idea was to offer the country an educational project based on the Jesuit tradition of 450 years and 200 institutions of higher education in the world. The University as heir to the Jesuit educational tradition, projected in the academic field of San Alberto Hurtado spirit with which we want to keep dialing our time. Contributing to the development of the person and the promotion of a more just society in Chile and Latin America, through research, teaching and extension quality. University seek to cultivate a new humanism through creative interaction of science with the Christian understanding of man and the world in an attitude of respectful, plural and fruitful dialogue. We deliver a comprehensive training students to be professionals with ethical sense and spirit of service, with the ability to continue learning and to respond creatively to the personal and social challenges.
