Our story begins in 1975 when Cardinal Raul Silva Henriquez drove the creation of a study center within a framework of freedom and pluralism. Thus he was born the Academy of Christian Humanism . This institution allowed a large group of intellectuals of the country, especially in the field of social sciences, develop a space for the creation and dissemination of knowledge about our political, economic, social and cultural reality. At its inception, the Academy is organized around a set of institutions that possess the feature of linking research with implementation of development programs and training for the various social sectors. The Academy thus conceived in the seventies was formed in a complex time in Chilean history research center. However, the new national and international scenario that we have seen since the late eighties presented us with the challenge of providing, especially to young people, a university within the framework of humanist values ​​from the various strands of social thought
