The history of today's University of Uberaba, nonprofit institution, maintained by the Educational Society Uberaba, dating back to 1940, when Mário Palmério founded the Lyceum of Triangulo Mineiro, based initially on Manoel Borges Street. With this initiative, the teacher took the first steps toward a much more ambitious project: to provide the quiet Uberaba the time of a school on the provision of higher education.
Until the idea became a reality, Mário Palmério implements other two actions. Transfers the headquarters of the Lyceum, later called the College Mineiro Triangle, for a set of buildings which today runs the Campus Center and decided to create the Technical School of Commerce of Triangulo Mineiro. In 1947 the federal government authorizes the opening of the Mineiro Triangle Dental School. In less than ten years, two other schools come into play: the Faculty of Law of Triangulo Mineiro in 1951, and the school Mineiro Triangle Engineering in 1956.
