The State University of Alagoas (UNEAL) is an institution teaching higher in the state of Alagoas. Currently offering 25 undergraduate programs in its five campuses (Arapiraca, Santana do Ipanema, Palmeira dos Indios, São Miguel dos Campos and União dos Palmares, in addition to an extension in Maceio).
The State University of Alagoas (UNEAL) was founded on October 13 of 1970, under the name of Educational Foundation of Alagoas Agreste - FUNEC. On 12 January of 1990, the FUNEC is estadualizada, and in 1995 is now called State University Foundation of Alagoas - FUNESA. Until then being a typically inside the institution, in 2006 the FUNESA reaches the capital, Maceió with a face class Bachelor of Public Administration.
