"On its part, Umm Al-Qura University sensed the immense responsibility it bears, by virtue of its location within the purest spot on earth; Holy Makkah, to participate in this comprehensive rise by producing generations who can be relied on to develop, build, handle various technologies, and address engineering and construction problems in the Kingdom in general, and those pertaining to Holy Makkah, the holy shrines, and the surrounding areas in particular.
This annual report documents all the information, statistics, tasks, and responsibilities of the college. It also surveys and updates the statistics and numbers of the teaching staff and their different specializations, and the personnel of the college's different departments and divisions, as well as current and graduated students of the college's academic departments for the five year period ending with the second semester of the academic year 1426/1427 AH.
The beginning of the academic year 1426/1427 AH marked the start of the postgraduate studies program in the Islamic Architecture department, which grants master's degrees in architecture. This aims at reinforcing the concept of Islamic architecture as an approach to the architectural design of construction-based environments. It also fulfills the requirements of the Muslim society in different environments.
The college applied modern technological methods to set up its electronic learning unit. The college board's meeting room was also equipped with an integrated network of advanced computers that are connected to a major server system. As such, traditional paper and notepads will no longer be used in meetings.
The college now has an independent deputyship for studies and development that handles matters related to academic accreditation, developing performance in the college, and conducting necessary studies for starting new specializations."
