Therefore, the reason for the Catholic is closely linked with its role in the community. Although the date of the day October 7, 1960 is the big celebration when it comes to the Catholic University of Pelotas, as this is the date of its foundation , the history of this institution began much earlier, with the faculty of Economics, which operated since 1937, on the premises of the College Gonzaga.
