Taipei Chengshih University of Science and Technology originally went by the name of Kuang Wu Industry Junior College, established in 1971. The school was reconstituted as Kuang Wu Institute of Technology in 2000 and was later renamed as Technology and Science Institute of Northern Taiwan in 2006. In 2012, as a result of outstanding educational achievements, the school was upgraded to a university, Taipei Chengshih University of Science and Technology, abbreviated as TPCU hereafter.
TPCU is located on the Guandu Plain at the foot of Datun Mountain. The school, picturesque as it appears, harbors a panoramic view of Taipei’s magnificent scenery, including attractions such as Taipei 101, the Mount Guanyin, and the Tamsui River. Surrounded by mountains and rivers, TPCU has made itself a distinguished university with the aim of cultivating elites. It has also become the ideal university for students because of its academic excellence.
