Then, Surigao Education Center in line with its objective of developing the community saw the need to offer a nursing program. The school has been training of midwives for the past 14 years and has produced Board Topnotchers. Its passing percentage had never been lower than national passing percentage, thereby gaining the confidence and moral authority to assume greater role in education by offering a nursing program. Thus, through Board resolution No. 8, the nursing program with other new courses was initiated on October 23, 1991.
