Spokane Falls Community College, part of the Community Colleges of Spokane, opened in 1967 in west Spokane, south of Riverside State Park, on a 113-acre (0.46 km2) campus. SFCC offers programs for students seeking an associate degree, with some 66 percent of SFCC students preparing to transfer to four-year institutions. SFCC also offers a number career-technical degree and certificate programs, including orthotic/prosthetic technician, hearing instrument specialist, physical therapist assistant, and occupational therapy assistant.
