Southwestern Oregon Community College is a college in Coos Bay, Oregon, United States. Founded in 1961, the college originally served Coos County and western Douglas County. In 1995, Curry County joined the district. Southwestern is committed to a practice of evaluating and assessing the effectiveness of the College to demonstrate Mission Fulfillment based on Core Themes, Core Theme Objectives, and the associated Success Indicators. The College’s process is an ongoing, institution wide process of planning and assessment for the purpose of continuous improvement and to provide evidence that the College is effectively achieving its Mission.
