"South University of Science and Technology of China(SUSTC) is a public university founded in the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone of China. It is intended to be a top-tier international university that excels in interdisciplinary research, nurturing innovative talents and delivering new knowledge to the world.​ The campus of SUSTC sits on a scenic stretch of land with winding creeks and wooded hills in the Nanshan (Southern Mountain) district of Shenzhen. The total area is over two square kilometers. Currently, Dr. LI Ming serves as Chairman of the University Council. Prof. CHEN Shiyi, an internationally renown scholar in the field of fluid mechanics, is President of the University. SUSTC was born in 2011 with a mission to reform higher education in China. Since then, it has been widely regarded as a pioneer and innovator in collectively moving China's higher education forward to match China's ever-growing role in the international arena.
