Founded by Mr. Lin Chao Chia in 1969 as Shu-Zen Junior Medical School, the name of the institution was changed to Shu-Zen Junior College of Medicine and Management (SZMC) in 2000. This change was an important move forward systematically for Shu-Zen Junior according to the Govenment's educational policies. SZMC began with the Department of pharmacy and subsequently the Department of Nursing, Physical Therapy, Optometry, Early Childhood Care & Education, Applied Foreign Languages, Information management, Medical Imagining & Radiology, Dental Laboratory Technology, and Occapational Therapy.Besides the Hunei campus, a beautiful new campus was built in Lujhu Township, Kaohsiung County, in September of 2001. It consists of a huge eight-floor dormitory building and theree other classroom/ lab/ research constructions, which were desighed by two internationally known architects, Dr. Chang, Wen Te and Mr. Chen, Jung Chuan. .
