In the year 2000, the three religious orders now responsible for the College, the Hungarian Benedictine Congregation, the Hungarian Piarist Province and the Franciscan Province of Our Lady of Hungary, united their centuries-old theological colleges under the name ‘Sapientia College of Theology of Religious Orders’. The college is maintained by these orders in association with the Hungarian Province of the Society of Jesus and the Dominican Sisters of Saint Margaret of Hungary. This collaboration strengthens the aim the College to rely on a wider basis among religious orders.
