"The Catholic University, as a university, is an academic community, that, of rigorous and critical fashion, assists in the protection and development of human dignity and of a cultural heritage through research, teaching and various services offered to local, national and international communities. The idea of ​​creation of the University, appears in the first Eucharistic Congress of 1884. In this Assembly, held in the same year of the enactment of the 1420 Act, a decision was given in favor of freedom of education in the order secondary and tertiary. Furthermore it vowed by the foundation of a Catholic University, vested with the power to confer academic degrees in various faculties, in which Catholic doctrine is taught in its entirety.
