North Greenville University is a comprehensive university affiliated with South Carolina Baptist Convention and the Southern Baptist Convention, and is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The institution awards Bachelor, Master, and Doctoral degrees. North Greenville University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award associate degrees, bachelor's and master's degrees. NGU was founded in 1892 as a non-government school by private individuals and named North Greenville High School, the first high school in the northern portion of Greenville County.
