New College opened in September 1984 as a Sixth-Form College and quickly became the premier academic provider of A Levels and GCSEs for school-leavers in the wider Swindon area. As our success became known, we added a number of specialist vocational courses, and started to offer part-time courses for adults. In the 1990s, the College expanded its range to include highly-successful Access to Higher Education and Degree courses, and set up its business services arm, Fast Forward, which has provided quality training for companies in Swindon for ten years. Success meant that we had outgrown our original site, so a new purpose-built site on Queens Drive was planned, opened in February 2003 and extended in 2005 and 2011. This has allowed us to offer even more full-time and part-time courses, while maintaining our reputation for high academic standards and excellent student support.
