Nepal Academy of Tourisn & Hotel Management (NATHM) formerly known as HMTTC was established in 1972 by Government of Nepal with the technical assistance of UNDP/ILO to produce skilled nampower required by the Hospitality and tourism industry.
NATHM has certainly grown to a higher level with its recently started Master of Hospitality Management (MHM) in affiliation with Tribhuvan University in its thirty eight years of glorious history of inception. Adding this new feather in its hat, it has turned itself into a pool of academic and vocational trainings that comprises Bachelor’s in Hotel Management (BHM), Bachelor’s in Travel and Tourism Management (BTTM) and a range of supervisory and crash courses on front office, housekeeping, food preparation, tour guide, trekking guide and so on. The trust with which TU bestowed upon us the great responsibilities of producing academic disciples has been the result of continuous engagement of NATHM in establishing itself as a centre of excellence in South Asia; excellence at par with meeting the growing demand of qualified middle and higher level supervisors and managers of the hospitality industry nationally and internationally. Moreover, NATHM’s agreement with International College of Hotel Management (ICHM) in Australia has provided our students with an opportunity not only to transfer all the credits earned at NATHM to ICHM but also continue their fourth semester in Australia.
