Nan-Kai Junior College was established in 1971 by Mr. Ku, Pu-Hsien, who fore-saw the promising economy and enter-prise which would need more skillful technicians. He, hence, dedicated himself to train students with the capability of managing hands-on tasks and with intelligence to meet the need of the industry.
In August, 1971, Nan-Kai Junior College was given approval to recruit day school students to Department of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Electronic Engineering. In August, 1982, Evening School of two-year program was established. Later, Day School of two-year program was founded in 1989. In 1992 and 1993, Department of Information Management and Department of Real Estate Management were added to the campus. Then, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Nan-Kai Junior College was renamed Nan Kai Junior College of Technology and Commerce in August, 1993.
