Established in 1985, Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto (Muhammadiyah University of Purwokerto) is a non-profit private higher education institution located in the the suburban setting of the medium-sized town of Purwokerto (population range of 10,000-49,999 inhabitants), Central Java. Officially accredited/recognized by the Kementerian Riset, Teknologi, dan Pendidikan Tinggi (English: Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia), Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto (UMP) is a medium-sized (enrollment range: 8,000-8,999 students) coeducational higher education institution formally affiliated with the Islamic religion.
