Mobility India (MI) established as a Registered Society in Bangalore in August 1994, has been a progressive force in bringing about a change in the disability, rehabilitation and development sector with a focus on empowerment, inclusion and participation of People with Disabilities Mobility India's vision of an empowered and inclusive community, points to a future in which there is greater equity and neglected sections such as people with disabilities, elderly people and other disadvantaged groups are part of the development process. Towards this, MI aims to enhance the capacity and capabilities of the neglected population by comprehensive healthcare, education, livelihood, rehabilitation and social services. MI as an institution is involved in providing Rehabilitation Services, Education and Training programmes in the areas of assistive technology, including prosthetics, orthotics, wheelchairs, rehabilitation therapy, community based rehabilitation and accessibility and is keen to step up its works. MI's Rehabilitation Research & Training Centre (RRTC) in Bangalore, a model of empathy for people with disabilities, encompasses all its activities. MI's Regional Resource Centre (RRC) in Kolkata, established in 1998, caters to the rehabilitation needs of the eastern and north-eastern regions. M's Field Offices are located in Bangalore, Jigani and Chamarajnagar (Karnataka) and Garden Reach (Kolkata).
