The School of Medicine in Liverpool is one of the UK's leading medical educators. We train and develop doctors throughout their careers, so that they can use the latest advances to provide exceptional care to their patients. We've been in the business nearly 200 years and during this time a massive concentration of research and teaching, in medicine and life sciences, has built up at the University.
Along with the medical school this includes prominent teaching hospitals, School of Dental Sciences, School of Tropical Medicine, School of Cancer Studies and world-leading health and life science research institutes. Thanks to the way we're structured, knowledge flows readily from these sources into our teaching: providing our students with wide-ranging study opportunities at the forefront of medical science.Around 1800 medical undergraduates and 1200 taught postgraduates study at the school at any one time. They're joined by the many medics who use us for continuous professional development.
