Schools are the centre of learning and the site where character are built. Keeping this goal in mind, Kanpur Vidya Mandir Society was founded on 19th July 1946 in the heart of the city, Swaroop Nagar. Just as the tiny plant grooms into a great tree, in the same way this school also progressed from the primary classes to the University level. Realizing the need of higher education for local girls. Kanpur Vidya Mandir Society founded Kanpur Vidya Mandir Mahila Mahavidyalaya on 1st July 1984 exclusively for girl students. Mr. Indrajit Jain was the founder President and Dr. I.C. Gupta was its Founder Secretary while under whose able leadership the college achieved new and newer heights the college recieved temporary affiliation to Chhatrapati Shri Sahu ji Maharaj University, Kanpur in 1984 and in 1987 it recieved permanent affiliation.
