. J. College , Jhumri Telaiya was established in 1960 with great effort and donation provided by Late Jagannath Jain and his family. The founder secretary Late Dr. G. P. Tripathi was inspiring force in establishment of the college. The founder principal of the college Late Dr. Radhika Saran Bajpayee gave solid foundation and shape of the college and the college established its identity as institution of higher education in the whole district. Late Dr. Ganesh Narayan Singh, Principal of the college determined the pace and direction of its development. From the time to time many principals of the college contributed in the development of the college and the present shape and size of the college is the result of collective efforts of all the stake holders- Principals, Teachers, Staff, Students, Parents and community. The college is a constituent unit of V.B.U., Hazaribag and is registered under 2f & 12B of U.G.C. Act. The college is imparting higher education from Intermediate to Bachelor’s Degree ( H ) level in all the streams such as Arts, Science, Commerce and Education self Finance Courses such as B.Ed. , BCA, BBA, Taxation Law & Practices and N.T.T. have been launched for benefit of students. Study centre of IGNOU for P.G. and Management Courses and IGNOU Centre for B.Ed. are also running as extended opportunity and facility for students. Though the college is facing several constraints in terms of resources-academic as well as Physical, even then we are trying our best to make use of available resources to maximum with collective effort of our teachers, staff, students, community and the university. The College has been accredited by NAAC with B Grade and the computerization of college office, Library, Classes are under progress. We hope that process of computerization will be completed within a quarter. Students of the college have established their identity in the field of Sports, N.S.S. and Cultural Activities while the Teachers have achieved success in academic field through active engagement in research. Several reputed companies are conducting campus interview for placement. Our country is rich not only in natural resources , we are also the youngest nation in the world having maximum no of youth with tremendous energy and capacity. To provide quality education and to train them for development of their skill and capacity is the prime duty and utmost task before us. To develop our student as a sensitive, responsive, responsible and competent citizen is our vision and we are regularly organizing several co-curricular activities in our college to achieve this end .Youth Festival –Jhoomer’2012 is one of such activities which provide opportunities to our students artists to express their talents through their performances in several activities such as Music , Dance , Theatre, Fine Arts and Literary ones. Infact, Youth Festival is a platform to search talents and creativity of our students so that they may be further promoted through proper training and support. In fact these activities make them to know and understand our people and country in a better way. In the process unity in diversity takes real shape.
