The University Institute of the Federal Police Argentina (IUPFA) is a national educational institution of higher learning founded on August 2, 1974. Its primary mission is to provide comprehensive training to all members of the Argentina Federal Police (PFA) adapting its object study (Security) to social demands and the evolution of science and technology. Since its inception, the IUPFA directed its activity towards the discipline of the security and police studies area and currently constitutes the principal academic support the PFA by incorporating all the vocational schools, training and specialization of police said.
The history of IUPFA dates back to August 2, 1974 with the creation of the so-called Higher Academy for Police Studies . Among the main causes that give origin, it had the need to institutionalize a field of higher education to contribute to prioritize the police profession, and recognition of scientific and technical training of its actors.With the creation of the Ministry of National Security in December 2010, a process of change that led to a comprehensive statutory reform began, transforming the IUPFA in the highest body of academic support system of vocational training, specialization and training of the PFA , thus extending its orbit all the training schools of this force, in order to achieve training paths for police personnel, with strong integration and levels of excellence in undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate.
